Public institute Bogenšperk
Public Institute Bogenšperk was established by the Municipality of Šmartno pri Litiji for the purpose of management and carrying out various activities and promotion of Bogenšperk Castle, one of the most important cultural monuments in Slovenia. Over time, the institute took on other tasks in the area of its home municipality, and today it manages and prepares its own programme at the Šmartno Cultural Centre, is responsible for the design, promotion and implementation of tourist activities in the local environment, provides information for visitors within the framework of the tourist information centre and guide service, publishes the local newsletter Krajevne novice and develops youth content at the municipal level.

Bogenšperk Castle
Being aware of the mission of presenting a cultural monument of national importance to the widest possible circle of the interested public, we are constantly upgrading its offer with new, current and high-quality content.. The institute carries out museum, gallery and protocol activities at the castle, prepares cultural and other events, implements various forms of educational programmes, rents out spaces for exhibitions, cultural and other events and services, and at the same time carries out research activities in humanities and is responsible for creating a broader tourist offer for the destination.

Šmartno Cultural Centre
The Šmartno Cultural Centre was established in its current form after 1948 and has become a meeting place for local cultural creation in the decades since its establishment, complemented by guest performances from both Slovenia and abroad. Public Institute Bogenšperk, in the role of administrator, has been continuing this mission for the last decade. Every year, a large number of public and paid cultural events and other events of a public nature are held.

Bogenšperk Festival
Years ago, the idea of connecting culture, cuisine and leisure led to organising our own festival, which was named after its central venue – Bogenšperk Castle. In its previous performances, it has connected the local area with the wider Slovenian and European space. It became established among both domestic and foreign artists. Today, the festival is a promoter of, and a link to, the local environment, and the castle and its surroundings are being rediscovered by locals as well as visitors from elsewhere. With each performance, the organisers strive to ensure a variety of genres and satisfy the widest possible range of tastes of our visitors, whether it be for musical performances or culinary delights.
